Whatever I did, I did, because I choose it.  I knew when I was sentenced that I would get out of jail.  My spirit was never broken.  In fact, I consider myself the luckiest person in the universe.

 I hated every second that I was in prison.  But there were transcendental experiences as well. All the women in prison were equals. 


 I spent the significant years of my life putting my personal life before my professional life.  I had fallen in love with a woman who was in prison and hadn’t yet been sentenced and was facing a maximum of twenty-three years. She opened me up to a greater understanding of social realities. 

Today, I am married to the women I met while she was in prison.  I am proud of my professional life.
